The Right People

The most common gripe I hear BY FAR from accountants is:
We can’t find good people
They might not be over the moon with the team they have, they might not have found that superstar senior accountant/client manager or it could be around performance, training and culture.
A super important key to grow a firm is building a great team and it involves getting the right people…….to caught Jim Collins….on the bus in the right seat.
I’m not going to pull the wool over your eyes and say this is easy. It is an ongoing process and I spoke on 5 relevant points in this weeks Modern Firm Practices show:
  • firing poor performers,
  • outsourcing,
  • hiring for strengths,
  • the key role of a client manager, and
  • the opportunistic time it is now (Sept 2020) to hiring top talent made redundant from big firms.
